Cubitts — Faye Toogood

Faye named her frame ‘The Tinker’, based on a maquette made of tin foil. Cut from double-thickness acetate, the handmade spectacle parts were dipped in liquid acetone and heated, causing the surface layer to bubble and fold, before being pressed and textured by hand. Finally, the frame gilded in silver, to recreate the tin foil appearance of the original model. Accompanied by a Toogood Explorer jacket, in silver foiled-effect fabric and a limited edition cleaning cloth.

Faye Toogood is a designer and founder of Toogood Studio, which she runs with her sister Erica. Her work is multidisciplinary, spanning fashion, sculpture, and furniture, known for its minimal functional form. At the centre of every Toogood project is a restless spirit of experimentation, and a joy taken in process and play.

Bidding begins at £650. All proceeds will be donated to leading arts charity, Create.
