Cubitts — Faye Toogood

£0 including prescription lenses

Faye named her frame ‘The Tinker’, based on a maquette made of tin foil. Cut from double-thickness acetate, the handmade spectacle parts were dipped in liquid acetone and heated, causing the surface layer to bubble and fold, before being pressed and textured by hand. Finally, the frame was treated with a silver-effect coating, to recreate the tin foil appearance of the original model.

Faye Toogood is a designer and founder of Toogood Studio, which she runs with her sister Erica. Her work is multidisciplinary, spanning fashion, sculpture, and furniture, known for its minimal functional form. At the centre of every Toogood project is a restless spirit of experimentation, and a joy taken in process and play.
