Cubitts — Laxmi Hussain

Laxmi’s frame began with a female nude in her characteristic sweeping blue line, from which she isolated individual strokes and parts. These lines became the structure of the frame front, with Cornflower and Oxford Blue acetates crossing at the front, and temples constructed from an arm and a leg. The frame is accompanied by an original diptych on paper, and a limited edition cleaning cloth.

Laxmi Hussain is an artist, whose figurative work walks a line between realism and abstraction, focusing on themes of motherhood and the female body. Her academic background in architecture can be traced in her strong use of line, transposed into free flowing forms, suffused in electric shades of blue.
