Yinka’s design features a lens shape based on the cross section of a calabash, a gourd often repurposed as an instrument or vessel in Nigeria. Bold blinkered side shields in laminated Mellow and Fisherman acetates, with set back hinges and temples embellished with Yinka’s signature flower motifs. We’ll call them joy goggles.
Yinka Ilori MBE is a multidisciplinary artist and designer, whose work is drawn from his British-Nigerian heritage. His work emphasises design as a means of bringing communities together, evoking a sense of joy and optimism that has been seen in exhibitions and public commissions globally.
