Painted in London during an early-summer heatwave, and on one of the hottest days of the year, Red Hot ’26 takes both its name and intensity from the sweltering July weather. A testament to Melanie Sykes’s enduring love of trees, the work layers fiery red and pink foliage against a clear blue sky, capturing nature at its most vivid and alive.

All proceeds from this cloth go to Venture Arts, a Manchester charity that supports learning-disabled and neurodivergent artists to build careers in the arts. As a neurodivergent artist herself, Melanie feels a strong connection to Venture Arts and the people it supports, which made the charity in her home town of Manchester the perfect match.
