US Vision Insurance
- Monday—Friday 9am–6pm
- Saturday 10am—6pm
- Sunday Closed
While we’re not an in-network provider for US vision insurance, you can absolutely still use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or HSA (Health Savings Account) to cover your purchase. Just pay up front, and you’ll be able to submit for full reimbursement on eligible items like prescription glasses.
1. Can I use my FSA to buy prescription glasses from you?
Yes! FSAs cover prescription eyewear, even if purchased internationally. As long as the glasses are prescribed by a licensed optometrist and you're paying out-of-pocket (not through insurance billing), you're eligible to be reimbursed.
2. How do I pay?
You’ll need to pay upfront using your own funds - credit card, debit card, etc. Some FSA cards may work for international purchases, but many do not. If yours doesn’t, just pay as usual and submit for reimbursement.
3. What documents do I need for reimbursement?
You’ll need a detailed itemised receipt (invoice) that includes:
Your name
The purchase date
A description of the product (e.g., “Prescription eyeglasses”)
The cost in USD or GBP (your FSA provider may accept either)
The provider's name and contact information
4. Do I need a prescription from a U.S. eye doctor?
Nope - your prescription can come from any qualified optometrist. Just make sure it’s valid.
5. Will the IRS approve an international purchase?
Yes, as long as the product is medically necessary (like prescription lenses), you have proper documentation, and you follow your FSA provider’s rules, international purchases are usually accepted.
6. How do I submit the claim to my FSA provider?
Each FSA provider is different, but generally, you’ll:
Log into your FSA account.
Choose “Submit a Claim.”
Upload your invoice.
Add any other required info (like a prescription or proof of payment).
Wait for approval and reimbursement.
If you’re unsure, contact your FSA provider directly—they’ll guide you through it.
7. Can I use FSA for extras like coatings or premium frames?
Yes! FSA funds can be used for:
Prescription lenses
Frames (as long as they’re for prescription glasses)
Blue light lens coating
Progressive lenses
Non-prescription glasses aren’t covered.
8. What if I have an HSA instead of an FSA?
Good news! Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) also cover prescription glasses and work similarly for international purchases.
